Chapter 13 The Warmth of Parent-Child Activities
Chapter 13 The Warmth of Parent-Child Activities
On a sunny day, the sunlight, like golden sprites, danced merrily through the streets and alleys. In the lovely kindergarten, the teachers were busily preparing for a parent-child activity. This news, like a spring breeze, reached Teacher Zhang's phone. Her slender fingers flew across the screen, and a warm notification appeared in the parents' group chat:
"Dear parents, our kindergarten is about to hold a super fun parent-child activity! This is a great opportunity for you and your child to interact closely and create wonderful memories! There are many different activities, including drawing to let your child's imagination soar on paper, kneading games to let their little hands create a wonderful little world, sports activities to keep everyone energetic, and a baking and cooking session where you can enjoy delicious treats! Parents, you definitely have to come and participate!"
This message was like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, instantly creating ripples. Parents' phones started buzzing with notifications, and everyone began discussing it animatedly.
Li Yuan was sitting on the sofa, legs crossed, leisurely scrolling through her phone. Seeing the message in the group chat, a slight smile appeared on her lips. She nodded, her slender fingers typing on the screen: "Definitely participating! Qingqing and I can't wait!"
Other parents also responded enthusiastically, and the scene was like a flock of cheerful birds chirping happily, all filled with anticipation for this parent-child activity.
Finally, the day of the parent-child activity arrived! The sun seemed especially excited, making the sky a brilliant blue. The kindergarten was like a sea of joy, with colorful balloons swaying in the air and ribbons fluttering in the wind. The children, dressed in their finest clothes, held their parents' hands, their little faces flushed with excitement.
Li Yuan arrived with her beloved daughter, Li Shiqing. Li Shiqing wore two little braids, like two bouncing springs, and her eyes sparkled with excitement, like two tiny stars. The mother and daughter's appearance was like that of two adorable angels descending to earth.
The activity has begun! The first activity is drawing. Children and parents sit around a small table, which is covered with colorful paintbrushes and drawing paper.
Li Shiqing picked up a paintbrush, tilted her little head, and said to Li Yuan in a childish voice, "Mommy, I want to draw our family."
Li Yuan felt a slight pang of sadness, but still smiled and said, "Okay, baby, then you draw us at our happiest."
Li Shiqing began to concentrate on drawing, muttering to herself, "This is Mommy, this is me, and..."
Li Yuan looked at her daughter with eyes full of tenderness.
The sculpting game is even more fun! Colorful clay is laid out in front of everyone.
Li Shiqing's little hands moved deftly through the clay, sometimes shaping a tiny flower, sometimes a little snail. The parents and children around her were amused by her creativity and burst into laughter. Li Yuan also joined in, having a great time, and occasionally collaborating with her daughter to create a strange yet adorable little monster. The mother and daughter laughed until tears streamed down their faces.
During sports activities, everyone runs and jumps on the playground.
Li Shiqing was like a lively little rabbit, hopping and skipping through the crowd.
Li Yuan chased after her, calling out as she ran, "Qingqing, slow down, don't fall!" The scene was incredibly heartwarming.
When it came time to bake and cook, the kitchen was filled with a sweet aroma. Li Shiqing, wearing a little apron and hat, looked incredibly cute. Li Yuan guided her daughter in mixing the batter, and the mother and daughter worked together to make adorable little cakes.
Just as everyone was immersed in the joyful atmosphere, suddenly, a parent approached Li Yuan with a curious expression and asked, "Li Shiqing's mother, where is Li Shiqing's father? It's such a pity he didn't come to such a fun activity." This question was like a sudden bomb, and the atmosphere seemed to freeze for a moment.
Li Yuan paused for a moment, but quickly regained her smile. She sighed softly and said with a touch of humor, "Oh dear, her dad and I are like two lines that once intersected, now we're going in different directions. We're divorced, but it's okay. I'm a super mom, and I'm amazing. I'll be there to watch my precious daughter grow up happily, making sure she lives in a sweet paradise every day. You see, we're having just as much fun without a dad, aren't we?"
The surrounding parents were taken aback at first, then burst into laughter. Some even gave a thumbs up and said, "Li Shiqing's mom, you're amazing! Your attitude is fantastic!"
Li Yuan waved her hand with a smile and said, "What's the big deal? Life is like this parent-child activity. There are laughter and little mishaps, but no matter what, we have to enjoy it."
At this moment, Li Shiqing ran over, hugged Li Yuan's leg, and looked up at her with her little face, asking, "Mommy, what are you talking about?"
Li Yuan picked up her daughter, kissed her cheek, and said, "It's nothing, baby. We were just talking about how much fun you had today."
Li Shiqing giggled and said, "Mom, I'm so happy today! I love playing with you the most!"
Li Yuan's eyes welled up with tears. She hugged her daughter tightly and said, "Mommy loves playing with you the most too. We'll have lots and lots of fun activities to do in the future."
The parent-child activities continued, with laughter echoing throughout the kindergarten. Li Yuan and Li Shiqing shone like stars, radiating a unique light in this loving event. They showed everyone that even with life's imperfections, love is never absent, and a strong, optimistic mother and a lovely daughter can still have an incredibly bright life.
Next, everyone immersed themselves in another round of fun. During the games, Li Yuan and Li Shiqing were in a group, competing against other parents and children.
During a riddle-guessing segment, the host posed the riddle: "A winding vine climbs the trellis, strings of pearls hang from it. (Guess the fruit)"
Li Yuan and Li Shiqing exchanged a glance and simultaneously shouted, "Grapes!" Their tacit understanding drew applause and cheers from those around them.
In the relay race, Li Yuan and her daughter coordinated perfectly. Li Yuan ran like the wind, steadily handing the baton to Li Shiqing. Li Shiqing, with her short legs, ran towards the finish line with all her might. Her earnest and adorable appearance made everyone cheer for her.
There was also a parent-child dance segment during the event; as soon as the music started, everyone began to dance.
Li Yuan held Li Shiqing's little hand, spinning and jumping. Li Shiqing smiled from ear to ear, dancing happily to her mother's rhythm.
The parents around them were infected by the joy of the mother and daughter, and the whole kindergarten was like a big, happy party.
After playing for a while, everyone sat together to rest and share the snacks they had brought.
Li Yuan took out the cookies she had made and shared them with everyone, and the children ate them with great relish. At this moment, another parent smiled and said to Li Yuan, "Li Shiqing's mother, your cooking skills are really good. It's not easy for you to raise your daughter so well all by yourself."
Li Yuan laughed and said, "What's the big deal? I'm willing to learn anything for my little princess. Look, I'm almost an all-around mom now. I can cook, play with her, and help her with her homework."
Everyone laughed and praised Li Yuan.
Looking at the friendly parents and happy children around her, Li Yuan felt a surge of warmth in her heart. She knew that although life had presented her with some challenges, she and her daughter were not alone in this loving little group. Watching her daughter play carefree with her friends in the crowd was her greatest happiness.
As time went by, the parent-child activity gradually came to an end. The afterglow of the setting sun bathed the kindergarten in a golden veil. Parents and children alike were reluctant to part, hugging each other and promising to play together again next time.
Li Yuan held Li Shiqing in her arms, looking at her daughter's sleepy yet content expression, and whispered, "Baby, did you have fun today?"
Li Shiqing muttered, "Happy, Mom, I don't want to go home."
Li Yuan smiled and said, "Silly child, we'll have many more happy days like this in the future."
On their way home, Li Yuan held Li Shiqing's hand, the setting sun casting long shadows of them. Li Yuan knew this was just a beautiful moment in their lives, but such moments would become more and more frequent. She would use her love and strength to create a warm haven for her daughter, ensuring her path of growth was always filled with laughter and sunshine. Just like today's parent-child activity, their lives could still be vibrant and colorful regardless of whether Li Shiqing's father was present.
