Chapter 884 884: Sealed Land

The conversation with Pei Yan gave Old Samikina a new understanding of this young man before him. His success was not merely due to luck; this person was ruthless to his enemies and even harsher on himself! Perhaps only such growth experiences could create a decisive and talented individual like him.Pei Yan had always been a man of his word. The conversation between him and Old Samikina was not about saying flattering words, but rather his true thoughts after experiencing everything upon arriving here. So, after resting for a night, when he was taken through a secret passage to the lava pit deep within the Holy Hall the next day, he was ready to enter the Sealed Land and fight.

However, when six old-fashioned noble clan leaders worked together to separate the lava and opened the gate to the Sealed Land, teleporting him inside, Pei Yan couldn't help but curse at the sight before him!

"Damn it, have I been set up?"

Whether he had intentionally gone looking for trouble with the Hellish Fierce Beast, Pei Yan suspected either he had entered the Hell Beast's lair, or these old Demon Gods deliberately tricked him. After a flash of light, the first thing that greeted his eyes upon entering the Sealed Land was a gaping, bloody maw filled with sharp teeth. Without thinking, Pei Yan immediately activated the Demon Race Essence Blood within him, his body instantaneously vaporized to evade the attack.

When he restored his human form again, the previously chaotic hundred or so fierce beasts of various kinds ceased their battling and raised their heads to look at him, the unexpected guest.

The astonishment between both sides lasted only a moment, and soon without any communication, a beast resembling a salamander, entirely red, was the first to react. It opened its mouth, and a fiery tongue shot out like lightning, heading straight for Pei Yan.

No matter what the purpose of the Demon Gods' conversation with him was that day, they hit on one of Pei Yan's concerns – his reliance on mechanical abilities. Therefore, on this trip to Hell, Pei Yan decided to heed the advice, avoiding the use of mechanical abilities unless absolutely necessary, and striving to maximize the potential of his other abilities for self-improvement.

With two long knives in hand facing the oncoming fiery tongue, Pei Yan did not dodge. He swung the long knife, releasing a Qi Blade. The fiery tongue collided with the Qi Blade and was instantly split in two; however, the attack did not stop there. The tangible fiery tongue promptly transformed into two fire dragons, which rapidly expanded between the strange salamander's cheek inhalations, forming massive fire waves, sweeping towards Pei Yan.

Pei Yan's figure descended swiftly, allowing the heat wave to blow over his head. As his body landed on the ground, he crouched down; accompanied by the sound of thunder, his figure drew a streak of blue light across the ground.

"Ugh!" Hearing the intense sonic boom created by the speed of his skeletal muscles moving through the air, Pei Yan felt a sense of satisfaction. This modified body indeed exceeded the limits of his physical body once again. Even using electric abilities in his physical state was no longer difficult, and from the feedback, this was not the body's ultimate limit.

Like a meteor streaking by, Pei Yan wielded the long knife, slicing through the salamander's throat. The long knife met the hard scales, emitting an ear-piercing metallic friction sound. The scales were slashed, revealing the crimson flesh and broken bones. The salamander let out a wail, rolling its body into the lava pool beside it, splashing large amounts of lava onto the shore.

"Although it's slightly slower than when the mechanical body transforms completely into lightning, this speed achieved by the physical body isn't bad." Pei Yan said self-reflectively while flexing the wrist holding the knife, reminiscing over the battle state. Then, he glanced at the pool of blood the salamander left behind. This monster even had boiling hot blood which scorched small craters into the ground. The knife hadn't managed to take its life; it seemed the salamander was only seriously injured.

The environment didn't allow him much time to ponder gains and losses. As soon as the Fire Salamander fell defeated, two beams of red light lit up simultaneously on his left and right. The left was powerful, and the right swiftly like lightning!

Without thinking, Pei Yan responded by blocking the attack from the left with his knife in his left hand, and with his right hand, he swung the knife to intercept. At that moment, he first felt his left arm and body slightly numb, while intense pain followed from his abdomen.

Only now did Pei Yan see clearly what the attackers were. He blocked a thick stone club with his left hand, not knowing what material it was made of, while its owner was an exceptionally ugly humanoid creature with grey-white, wrinkled skin over a skeleton-like frame. This tall and thin body peculiarly supported a massively disproportionate head. Because the great head was excessively large, the thin neck could not support its weight, forcing it to lean sideways on the shoulder, fixing its eerie gaze with two pallid, lifeless eyes upon its enemy.

Having been through the Ghost Realm's terrifying ordeal, Pei Yan certainly wasn't scared off by such a gaze, but it still made him feel quite uneasy. It's unclear where this monster's scrawny limbs got such strange strength to resist his long knife, countering it with a contesting blow.

On the other side, the monster that caused substantial harm to Pei Yan seemed more agreeable by comparison. A large red-and-white striped mole caused harm mainly through surprise. When it initially charged forward, its momentum wasn't any less than the giant-headed beast. Pei Yan sized up its body at a glance, which was roughly the size of a grown buffalo. Thus, Pei Yan aimed at its path of approach and slashed, but as the long knife neared it, the mole abruptly accelerated, its form shrank swiftly, and in an instant, it reverted to an average mole's size, narrowly dodging the blade while leaving four shallow claw marks on Pei Yan's abdomen.

Amidst the attack from the two monsters, a terrible screech came from the sky above. The owner of the blood-bathed maw Pei Yan dodged upon entering the Sealed Land circled and flew back. This winged monster with a long bird beak obviously felt angry for failing to devour Pei Yan whole and seized the opportunity to swoop down from the sky again.

Facing the onslaught of three monsters, Pei Yan wore a satisfied grin; this was the battle he yearned for!

"Ah! The precious Essence Blood finally fused within me, let me witness what difference the Origin Law released by the Pure-blood Demon Race makes!" Pei Yan laughed loudly as he splayed his arms open, allowing the attacks from three sides to pierce his body from different angles. The vaporized Pei Yan formed a massive black mist, enveloping the three charging beasts entirely, with the sounds of fighting and roaring incessantly within the black fog.
