Chapter 761 New Weapons
Chapter 761 New Weapons
He was currently fully immersed in practicing his new weapon, the "Supreme Blade." Enticed by the hefty reward, the skilled artisans of the Craftsman Kingdom were highly enthusiastic, working overtime and finally completing one-third of the Supreme Blade in just two days.
Zhang Hai gripped the ring-shaped main body of the Supreme Blade. The main body was entirely black, its material unknown, but two slender, sharp blades were embedded in it, seemingly floating and slowly rotating around the main body. Zhang Hai infused chakra into them, and the two blades immediately hummed, shooting out like arrows, tracing sharp trajectories in mid-air. They could launch attacks from all directions, combining offense and defense, making them impossible to defend against.
However, when Zhang Hai attempted to disassemble the blades and let each fight independently, he discovered a problem. Due to the sheer number of blades and their extreme thinness, his control noticeably diminished, lacking the precision he had when manipulating them as a whole. But this did not diminish his love and admiration for the weapon.
After completing the experiment, Zhang Hai was both surprised and delighted. The effect of the dark green gemstone embedded in the main body, in particular, far exceeded his expectations. This gemstone seemed to contain some mysterious power, making the Supreme Blade's attacks even more unpredictable and varied.
While the Four Symbols slept soundly from exhaustion, Zhang Hai used his Sharingan to silently probe the memories of one of the craftsmen, attempting to uncover the origins of the dark green gem. He quickly learned that the gem was a treasure left behind by Qingming, the founder of the Craftsman's Country. Combined with components of the other three Supreme Blades and a vast amount of chakra, this complete weapon even held the astonishing hope of resurrecting the dead. However, lured by Zhang Hai's offer of ten billion taels of silver, these craftsmen had long since forgotten their ancestral teachings, disregarding any hope of resurrection and only thinking about how to pocket this enormous sum.
Upon learning the truth, Zhang Hai was both amused and exasperated. He felt that spending the ten billion taels was absolutely worthwhile. After all, they had even "sold" their ancestral heirloom, and included such a shocking secret as a bonus. More importantly, this Supreme Blade was made with technology and materials unique to the Kingdom of Craftsmen, making it impossible to replicate; it was a truly one-of-a-kind, priceless treasure.
After practicing for a while longer, Zhang Hai's expression shifted; he sensed a familiar chakra fluctuation approaching. A slight smile played on his lips as he vanished from his spot, following the trajectory of the chakra.
He arrived at a relatively secluded house and saw Scorpion approaching from a distance. Scorpion had a strange smile on his face. Upon seeing Zhang Hai, he immediately greeted him warmly: "Brother Black Earth, all done! I've brought the woman you wanted over, she's in the room!" His tone was full of self-satisfaction.
Upon hearing this, Zhang Hai was delighted. He patted Scorpion on the shoulder and praised, "Well done."
Scorpion gave Zhang Hai a meaningful look, then lowered his voice and whispered, "Hey, Black Earth, you go ahead and play. I'll keep watch for you." After saying that, he quietly took a few steps back and stood aside, vigilantly observing his surroundings, looking every bit the dutiful "bodyguard."
Zhang Hai didn't dwell on the strangeness in Scorpion's words; his mind was entirely on Mabui, and he just wanted to find out the Cloud Village's reaction as soon as possible. He pushed open the door and strode inside.
However, the moment he stepped into the room, he froze. Inside, Mabuyi was wrapped tightly in a quilt, with only her head showing. She sat cross-legged on the floor, her eyes wide open, her gaze piercing.
Their gazes met in mid-air, their eyes locked. Mabuyi's eyes widened in surprise; she hadn't expected to see Zhang Hai here. Then, her surprise turned to understanding, as if she had grasped something. And then, that understanding instantly transformed into boundless rage, a palpable killing intent erupting from her. It was the look of someone ready to kill, undisguised and utterly ruthless.
Looking into Mabuyi's eyes, which seemed to want to tear him to pieces, and combining this with Scorpion's earlier words, "Go ahead and play," and seeing Mabuyi's current state, Zhang Hai finally understood that Scorpion had completely misunderstood him. He smiled bitterly, feeling a wave of helplessness. Wrapped so tightly in the blankets, it was obvious that Mabuyi was completely naked.
He avoided Mabuyi's piercing gaze, quickly pushed open the door, turned around, and shouted sternly at Scorpion, who was "dutifully" keeping watch outside the door: "Red Spider! Come here!" His tone carried an unquestionable command and a hint of suppressed anger.
Scorpion's face was filled with surprise. This was the first time Zhang Hai had called him by his code name, "Red Spider." He sensed something unusual, but was mostly curious. He jogged over to Zhang Hai and saw that Zhang Hai had a tense face and looked rather unwell. He asked in confusion, "Black... Megatron, why aren't you playing anymore? Don't worry, I've already washed you. You're all clean."
Zhang Hai's previously tense expression instantly crumbled upon hearing Scorpion's words, "I've already washed you, you're clean." He was at a loss for words, not knowing where to begin explaining. He sighed, helplessly rubbed his forehead, and then said to Scorpion, "You can't judge a woman's cleanliness by her physical appearance."
Upon hearing this, Scorpion became even more confused. He tilted his head and asked, puzzled, "Then what are you looking at?" His face was full of curiosity.
Zhang Hai felt this wasn't the time to discuss such philosophical questions. He took a deep breath, tried to calm himself, and asked directly, "Did you poison her? Give me the antidote, and then go apologize to her."
Scorpion's face stiffened slightly upon hearing this. He was to apologize? This was the first time in his life he'd ever been asked to apologize, especially to an "ugly woman." But looking at Zhang Hai's serious expression, he reluctantly lowered his head and muttered softly, "I'm sorry." The words felt strangely unfamiliar to him, even somewhat novel.
Zhang Hai took the antidote and then explained to Scorpion, "I plan to have her join our Zero organization as a full member. I don't want any misunderstandings between you."
Scorpion suddenly realized that he finally understood Zhang Hai's intention. But he was still puzzled. Looking at Mabuyi, who was wrapped in a blanket in the room, he asked in confusion, "She's so weak, what makes her qualified to be a formal member of the Zero Organization?"
Zhang Hai ignored Scorpion's question and went straight into the room to Mabuyi. Mabuyi's angry eyes were still fixed on him, as if she wanted to devour him alive. Zhang Hai ignored her gaze and fed the antidote to Mabuyi.
