Chapter 1708 Max's Arrogance!
Chapter 1708 Max's Arrogance!
Around him, numerous participants immediately recognized his name.
After all, Max Morgan was hardly an unknown figure within the Divine Realm anymore.
Many people had heard about his performance during the Smelting Trial, secret domain of Orion and from the Sword Sovereign's sword.
Some had even personally witnessed it.
However, the moment their senses swept across his cultivation, many expressions immediately changed.
Some revealed disappointment.
Others showed amusement.
A few even displayed open disdain.
To them, fame and strength were two entirely different things. While Max's accomplishments had certainly made him famous, his cultivation at the peak of the Law Awakening Realm simply appeared too low compared to the monstrous geniuses gathered within the Combat Hall.
Most participants here stood at the peak of the Law Refinement Realm, and many had already established impressive reputations throughout their respective races.
As a result, whispers immediately spread through the crowd.
"So that is Max Morgan?"
"The one who supposedly dominated the Smelting Trial and defeated Mira, the daughter of the Sword God Palace master?"
"He looks too ordinary."
"Peak Law Awakening Realm? He is too weak in my opinion"
"I expected something more impressive."
"He probably will not even reach the fifth battle."
"Forget the fifth battle. I would be surprised if he survives the third."
Similar discussions continuously echoed throughout the surroundings.
Yet Max completely ignored them.
He had long grown accustomed to people underestimating him based on his cultivation.
If anything, such reactions had become a normal part of his life.
Without wasting another moment, Max calmly stepped forward and began making his way toward Arena Number 7.
As he moved through the enormous Combat Hall, countless gazes followed him. The sea of spectators parted naturally before him while participants standing nearby occasionally glanced toward him with curiosity. Some looked interested while others clearly viewed him as nothing more than another challenger destined to fail.
Meanwhile, Nick silently watched from behind.
Unlike the others, he did not underestimate Max.
After everything he had heard from the disciples of the War God Palace and after personally speaking with Max, he possessed a strange confidence that things would not unfold as everyone expected.
Eventually, Arena Number 7 came into view.
The arena was enormous.
Like the other nine arenas spread throughout the Combat Hall, it was surrounded by powerful barriers designed to contain even the most destructive battles. Countless formations covered its surface while ancient runes continuously glowed along the outer walls.
The fighting platform itself stretched for several kilometers, providing more than enough room for high-level combatants to unleash their full strength without restrictions.
The moment Max arrived before the arena, another notification immediately appeared.
[Participant Max Morgan Has Arrived.]
[Preparing First Battle.]
[Please Enter The Arena.]
Without hesitation, Max stepped forward and passed through the barrier.
The moment his figure entered the arena, a tremendous wave of noise erupted from the surrounding audience.
Cheers.
Shouts.
Discussions.
All of it exploded simultaneously.
Countless spectators immediately focused their attention upon Arena Number 7.
Humans wanted to see whether the famous genius of the Black Dragon Clan could live up to his reputation.
Demons wanted to see how quickly he would fail.
Even many elves shifted their attention toward the arena with curious expressions.
Meanwhile, Max calmly walked toward the center of the massive platform before stopping there.
However, what happened next completely exceeded everyone's expectations.
Instead of waiting quietly for his first opponent to arrive like every other challenger before him, Max slowly raised his head and swept his gaze across the enormous Combat Hall.
His eyes casually moved across the countless spectators occupying the stands before eventually settling upon the section where the majority of the demons were gathered. For several moments, he simply looked at them in silence. Then, a faint smile slowly appeared on his face.
The smile immediately gave many people a bad feeling.
Then Max spoke.
His voice was calm.
His tone was relaxed.
Yet because of the formations surrounding the arena, every single word echoed clearly throughout the entire Combat Hall.
"Ever since arriving in Starfall Haven, I have continuously heard about how powerful the demon race is. I have listened to endless stories about the so-called genius demons gathered here. Yet after watching for so long, I cannot help but feel somewhat disappointed."
"Aside from Karo, all I have seen are demons hiding behind the reputation of others while bullying weaker opponents. Since there are supposedly so many proud warriors among you, why not stop wasting time and send someone capable of giving me a proper fight? Surely among all the demons present here there must be at least one individual who is not completely useless."
The instant those words finished echoing throughout the Combat Hall, the atmosphere froze.
Complete silence descended.
Even the battles occurring in several nearby arenas seemed less important for a brief moment as countless people stared toward Arena Number 7.
Then—
The silence exploded.
The demon section immediately erupted into chaos.
"What did that human just say?"
"Is he insane?"
"A peak Law Awakening Realm ant dares to speak to us like that?"
"Who gave him the courage to insult the demon race?"
"I will personally tear him apart."
"Forget Karo. I can kill him before he manages to blink."
"Let me enter that arena immediately."
Angry voices continuously echoed throughout the demon section as countless pairs of eyes locked onto Max with undisguised hostility. Many demons had already stood from their seats while glaring toward the arena. Several even released killing intent unconsciously due to their rage.
Meanwhile, the reactions among the humans were completely different.
Many looked shocked.
Others looked excited.
A few even struggled to hide their laughter after witnessing the demons become so furious.
Nick himself stood among the crowd with a strange expression on his face.
Even after everything he had heard about Max, he had not expected him to immediately provoke almost every demon within the Combat Hall.
This was not confidence.
This was blatant arrogance.
Meanwhile, Max simply stood in the center of the arena with a relaxed expression, completely ignoring the furious reactions around him. In fact, when he saw how angry the demons had become, the smile on his face only widened slightly.
Then he spoke again.
"What happened? I thought demons were fearless warriors. Yet all I hear are angry complaints from the audience. If any of you actually possess the strength to back up your pride, then come down here and prove me wrong. Otherwise, sit quietly and continue watching. Your shouting is becoming rather annoying."
