Chapter 26 Special Writing Lesson: My Mother
Chapter 26 Special Writing Lesson: My Mother
In the classroom of Sunshine Primary School, Teacher Zhang walked in with a smile, cleared her throat, and said, "Class, today we are going to write an essay entitled 'My Mother.' Please write yourselves into the image of your mother in your hearts."
The students nodded in agreement, except for Liu Yixin, whose eyes dimmed slightly. Li Shiqing, on the other hand, confidently took out paper and pen, ready to show off her skills.
Liu Yixin bit her lip, her heart filled with mixed emotions. Although she didn't have a mother, she didn't want to fall behind in this essay. So, she took a deep breath and began to write, drawing on her imagination and longing for her mother.
"My mother must be the most beautiful fairy in the world. She has long hair, as smooth as black silk. Her eyes are big and bright like stars, and every time she looks at me, it seems like there is a gentle light flowing through them." As Liu Yixin wrote, she sketched out that illusory yet beautiful image of her mother in her mind.
Meanwhile, Li Shiqing quickly wrote: "My mom is a super warrior. Every morning, she gets up as fast as if she's wound up, makes me a delicious breakfast, and then rushes off to work. She walks with a gust of wind and talks like a machine gun. She's a formidable figure at the company. Any problem she encounters is like a monster meeting Ultraman; they're all defeated."
As she wrote, Li Shiqing secretly glanced at Liu Yixin and noticed that she was also writing diligently. She wondered, "Why is Yixin writing so enthusiastically?"
Li Shiqing couldn't help but nudge Liu Yixin with her elbow and whisper, "Yixin, you're writing so diligently. Your portrayal of your mother must be amazing."
Liu Yixin was slightly taken aback, then smiled and replied, "You too, Shi Qing. I can already imagine your mother vividly portrayed in your writing."
The next day, the composition class began with a review session.
Teacher Zhang, holding a stack of composition books, said, "Class, let's listen to a few students' compositions first. Li Shiqing, why don't you read your masterpiece to everyone first?"
Li Shiqing stood up confidently and began to read aloud: "My mother is a magical being. Her cooking skills are unparalleled; she can turn ordinary ingredients into delicious dishes. Once, I was sick and had no appetite. My mother was like a magician, carving carrots into little flowers and cooking porridge until it was fragrant and sticky. As I ate, I felt like I was half cured. Moreover, my mother is also an athlete. On weekends, she would take me hiking. I would be panting heavily, but she would leap lightly through the mountains like a deer, constantly encouraging me: 'Shiqing, come on, you can do it!'"
The students listened with great interest, and Teacher Zhang nodded with a smile: "Li Shiqing described her mother very vividly, allowing us to feel her mother's vitality and deep love for her. Now, let's invite Liu Yixin to read her composition."
Liu Yixin stood up nervously, gripping her composition book tightly with both hands, and read aloud in a slightly trembling voice: "My mother lives in a castle in the clouds. Every day she casts a spell on herself in the mirror to make herself more beautiful. She flies to my window at night and gently leaves a kiss on my forehead. Although I can't see her, I can feel her love. She brings me all sorts of beautiful dreams. In my dreams, we walk hand in hand in the garden, where the flowers are all colorful and smiling at us."
After she finished reading, the classroom was quiet for a moment. Some students looked puzzled, and Li Shiqing couldn't help but mutter to herself, "Yixin's mother is so strange."
Teacher Zhang clapped her hands gently and said, "Liu Yixin's composition is very imaginative. Although her mother may not be by her side, she has constructed a beautiful image of her mother in her heart, which is also an expression of love and longing."
Liu Yixin's eyes welled up with tears after hearing her teacher's words, but a relieved smile appeared on her face.
After class, Li Shiqing ran up to Liu Yixin and asked, "Yixin, why does the mother you wrote about sound like a character from a fairy tale?"
Liu Yixin lowered her head, hesitated for a moment, but still decided to tell the truth: "Shi Qing, I told you before that I don't actually have a mother. I wrote it according to my imagination."
Li Shiqing's eyes widened and her mouth formed an "O" shape. After a while, she came to her senses, patted Liu Yixin's shoulder and said, "Yixin, although you don't have a mother, the mother you wrote about is super amazing. I'll ask my mother to take care of you more in the future, and you can treat my mother as your own mother."
Liu Yixin looked up at Li Shiqing's sincere eyes and said with emotion, "Thank you, Shiqing."
After school, Li Shiqing took Liu Yixin's hand and said, "Yixin, come on, my mom made a delicious cake today. Let's go home and try it together."
Liu Yixin hesitated for a moment: "Wouldn't this be too much trouble for Auntie?"
Li Shiqing waved her hand: "No, no, my mom likes you very much."
When Li Yuan got home from get off work, she had just changed her shoes when Li Shiqing rushed over like a cheerful little bird, excitedly shouting, "Mom, Mom! Today we wrote an essay called 'My Mom,' and I think I did a great job! Yixin did an amazing job too!"
Li Yuan smiled and patted her daughter's head, infected by her enthusiasm, and asked curiously, "Oh? Then tell Mom what you wrote?"
Li Shiqing took her mother's hand and walked to the sofa. After sitting down, she began to talk animatedly: "Mom, you are a super warrior. Every day you can quickly prepare a delicious breakfast and you can also conquer the world at work, easily solving work problems. And that time when I was sick, you carved carrots into little flowers and put them in the porridge. The porridge smelled so good that I felt much better. When we went hiking on the weekend, you were always full of energy and encouraged me."
Li Yuan listened, her eyes full of tenderness and smiles, and said, "My darling is quite observant. What did Yixin write down?"
Li Shiqing's eyes sparkled as she said, "Although Yixin doesn't have a mother, the mother she wrote about is like a fairy living in a cloud castle, with long hair and bright eyes. She would fly to her window at night to send her sweet dreams, and she would also walk hand in hand with her in the garden. The teachers all praised her composition for its great imagination, expressing her longing for her mother with beautiful imagination."
Li Yuan was slightly taken aback, and a pang of pity rose in her heart. She sighed softly and said, "Yi Xin has had a tough time."
Li Shiqing leaned against her mother's chest and said, "Mom, I told Yixin that I'll ask her to treat you as her mother from now on, and I've also invited her to come to our house often."
Li Yuan kissed her daughter's forehead and said with relief, "Baby, you did the right thing. Yixin is a good child, and we should give her more love and warmth."
From then on, Li Yuan paid extra attention to Liu Yixin. Every time Liu Yixin came to visit, Li Yuan would carefully prepare some snacks and warmly welcome her. Watching the two children laugh and chatter in the room, doing their homework and playing games together, Li Yuan's heart was filled with happiness and contentment. She deeply understood the importance of family warmth and maternal love for a child's growth, and hoped that through her efforts, Liu Yixin could fill the emotional void in her heart with this love and care, allowing the flower of their friendship to bloom beautifully and adding more wonderful colors to their childhood.
