Chapter 67 Battle of the Raging Seas
Chapter 67 Battle of the Raging Seas
Inside the cave, Zhao Chen was discussing the next move with Keisha and the other two women. Liang Bing was reporting on the results of their training over the past period.
Sister, we now have a total of 11,000 combat-ready soldiers, including 800 second-generation warriors and the rest are first-generation warriors. After this period of training, we have formed a formidable fighting force.
Can we start a war with Hua Ye now?
"No way!" Keisha and He Xi objected in unison. He Xi explained to Liang Bing, "Leaving aside others, Hua Ye is a peak third-generation divine body, which is beyond our ability to deal with."
"Isn't there my brother-in-law?" Liang Bing pouted unhappily.
"Are you going to deal with Hua Ye's other three generations of divine bodies?" Keisha asked, dissatisfied.
"We need to stall for time. It won't be too late to fight again after I've figured out the advancement plan for the third-generation divine body," He Xi suggested, stroking his chin.
"How much time do you need?" Keisha asked.
I'm not sure either.
"Actually, we could start a war right now," Zhao Chen said. "I'll deal with Hua Ye. Keisha, you hold him off while I deal with the other three generations of divine bodies. Then we'll deal with him."
No sooner had she finished speaking than a female angel suddenly burst into the stone house and bowed. Princess Keisha, the celestial messenger Kunpeng, requested an audience.
The speaker had brown curly hair tied in a ponytail that draped over her chest. She was pretty and her slightly slender figure was encased in silver-white armor. This person was none other than Ruoning, one of the best among the eight hundred second-generation divine bodies. She had not yet betrayed the female angels and was still Keisha's personal bodyguard.
"Hmph," Keisha snorted coldly. "Let him in."
Kunpeng entered the stone house and stood at the doorway. With the air of a superior, he spoke, "The decrees of King Hua Ye are all here." He then tossed a scroll in his hand to Keisha.
Keisha snatched it and began to read. "With the Raging Sea as the boundary, we will jointly rule the Angel Nebula with the Heavenly King." She finished reading and couldn't help but let out a cold snort.
Princess Keisha's truce is a boon to both sides, and to show his sincerity, King Huaye is even willing to rebuild Mero Star. Kunpeng tries to persuade the other side.
Hua Ye didn't need to save face; he had no place to stand anymore. He Xi interrupted.
Bang! Keisha casually tossed the reel onto the ground.
Kunpeng said with dissatisfaction, "I advise you to think carefully, otherwise the Angel Nebula will be stained with blood."
"Then let it become a river," Keisha said without room for argument. "Go back and tell Hua Ye that there is only one Angel King, and the rest is called the Scum." A week later, they will fight to the death on the raging sea.
"Get out of here!" Liang Bing said impatiently.
Kunpeng snorted coldly and turned to leave the cave.
After Kunpeng left, Keisha walked out of the cave. It was time to tear through the darkness; this battle, regardless of victory or defeat, would be recorded in history.
A week later, above the raging sea, eleven thousand female angels flew in formation in the void.
Keisha stood at the very front of the formation, with He Xi on her left and Liang Bing on her right, while Zhao Chen stood quietly behind the three of them. This past week had been the most agonizing for him.
Zhao Chen stayed by Keisha's side at all times. He would also occasionally wander around He Xi and Liang Bing, especially when Keisha and He Xi were alone, he would stay by their side for a moment.
Ostensibly to prevent Hua Ye from launching a sneak attack, the real purpose was to test something: whether Yan would return in the future, as this would determine if Hua Ye's strength would suddenly surge.
Fortunately, no abnormalities were found.
Above the raging sea, Ruoning led eight hundred second-generation divine bodies at the very front of the formation. Behind them stood ten thousand first-generation warriors, their silver-white armor gleaming coldly under the starry sky.
Opposite them, an army of 300,000 male angels stretched out across the void, extending for thousands of miles. Warships and cannons were layered upon each other. This was not a sneak attack; this was a head-on battle.
Keisha didn't rush to give the order. She waited.
In the center of the male angels' camp, a massive warship hovered. Though called a warship, it was virtually devoid of weaponry. What it possessed was a magnificent palace, complete with plazas, sculptures, and greenery. On the balcony of the top-floor attic, several powerful auras were approaching.
Soon, several figures emerged. Leading them was Hua Ye, followed by Su Mali Kunpeng and a veteran third-generation angel.
Hua Ye stopped in front of the railing, his gaze sweeping over the line behind Keisha, and a slow smile crept onto his lips.
"Keisha, after all these years, you still have that sour face."
Keisha's silver wings unfurled behind her, the tip of her sword pointing at Hua Ye. "After today, the Heavenly Palace order will cease to exist."
"With just the few people behind you?" Hua Ye chuckled. "Ten thousand against three hundred thousand? Who taught you math?"
"Numbers don't tell the whole story."
We've known each other for a while, and we're still engaged. A cup of wine as a punishment would have been enough to make up; it didn't have to come to this. Hua Ye helplessly shrugged.
Two paths: either abdicate or be forced to abdicate. Keisha's tone left no room for argument.
Hua Ye looked back at the crowd behind him, and Su Mali quickly stated, "These women are riding roughshod over us."
Hua Ye snorted coldly and turned around. "We're always the ones riding on others. Since we can't reach an agreement, let's conquer them!" Hua Ye slowly drew his sword from his waist. The three behind him followed suit, drawing their swords as well.
Keisha stopped wasting words with Hua Ye, drew her sword and pointed it forward, signaling everyone to prepare for battle.
"kill."
Eight hundred elite second-generation warriors spread their wings and charged straight into the heart of the male angels' defenses. Ruoning charged at the forefront, her brown curly hair fluttering in the wind, her white wings standing out vividly under the starlight.
Her sword was incredibly fast; in the blink of an eye, three small warships were sliced in two by her longsword, exploding silently in space. She weaved through the ranks, each strike precisely piercing the chest of a male angel.
More than 10,000 first-generation divine warriors followed closely behind, engaging in fierce combat with the male angel forces.
Keisha's silver wings fluttered, transforming into a streak of silvery-white light as she met Hua Ye's gaze. He Xi and Liang Bing also moved simultaneously, each confronting a third-generation angel.
"You actually dared to come."
"You think I'm joking with you?" Keisha's sword was about to strike Hua Ye, who quickly dodged to the side and swung his sword back at Keisha's neck. Keisha's silver wings retracted, blocking the sword with her other hand.
The two were locked in combat. Swords flashed, and dark golden energy and silver blades clashed fiercely in the void, each exchange sending the surrounding angels scattering in all directions.
Keisha's sword was fast, but Hua Ye was even faster. A third-generation peak divine body, one of the most powerful combatants in the known universe, was not someone Keisha could directly confront.
But Keisha doesn't need to win. She just needs to stall Hua Ye and wait for Zhao Chen to make his move.
Sumari stepped out from the ranks, his dark golden hair flowing in the vacuum, his fox-like eyes slightly narrowed. His gaze pierced the battlefield and landed on He Xi. He Xi was locked in combat with a veteran third-generation angel, silver-white sword light weaving back and forth in the void.
Sumali was about to fly towards Hexi.
Liang Bing suddenly blocked his way.
"Get out of the way."
Liang Bing grinned. "No."
Sumali drew his silver-bladed throwing knife, which arced through the air, aiming straight for Liang Bing's throat. Liang Bing dodged to the side, and the sword light exploded. The two became entangled in combat.
Zhao Chen concealed himself in the void of the battlefield. His divine sense covered the entire battlefield. His gaze was fixed on a male angel in the distance who was reaping lives.
It's Kunpeng. Zhao Chen met it last time Hua Ye sent someone to negotiate.
With a swift movement, the Golden Crow's escape light exploded, leaving a dark golden arc in the void. The God-Slaying Spear pierced straight for Kunpeng's back.
Sensing the deadly danger behind him, Kunpeng abruptly retracted its wings and spun around to dodge, but Zhao Chen was too fast, and the spear tip still pierced through its shoulder. Kunpeng grunted, a ruthless glint flashing in its eyes, and swung its sword backhand towards Zhao Chen's neck.
Zhao Chen made no unnecessary movements. The Chaos Bell flew out of his body, emitting a gray-black light screen that blocked the sword. The spear tip then slipped from the opponent's shoulder and stabbed into the still somewhat dazed Kunpeng's chest.
Zhao Chen collected the corpse without stopping. The Golden Crow's escape light shone again, flying towards He Xi's direction. He Xi was locked in combat with that veteran third-generation angel, silver-white sword light flashing in the void. Although He Xi was suppressed by the opponent's divine body level, she was still temporarily in control.
Zhao Chen seized the opportunity to cut in from the side, and the God-Slaying Spear pierced through the chest of the veteran third-generation angel in an instant.
He Xi sheathed her longsword, glanced at Zhao Chen, and rushed to support Liang Bing.
Zhao Chen stored the corpse in his storage ring without lingering. The Golden Crow's escape light shone again, and it flew towards Keisha's direction.
Keisha is struggling to survive under Hua Ye's control.
Silver-white sword light and dark golden energy collided violently in the void. Hua Ye's peak third-generation divine body was not something that Keisha, a second-generation cultivator, could directly contend with. At this moment, Keisha already had several wounds on her body, and several cracks on her shoulder armor.
Hua Ye's sword suddenly slashed straight at Keisha's face, but Keisha blocked it with her own sword.
"You're still so stubborn," Hua Ye teased.
"Hua Ye, this is the Blazing Sword forged from Dark Silver. Today, I'll use it to shatter your pipe dreams." Keisha snorted coldly, blocking Hua Ye's sword with her right hand. Her left hand extended from beneath her silver wings, a ball of silvery-white energy condensing in her palm, which she pressed fiercely towards Hua Ye's chest.
Hua Ye released his sword and retreated hastily. The energy ball grazed his armor and exploded in the void.
Zhao Chen arrived at the battlefield at this moment, cutting in from behind Hua Ye, and thrusting the God-Slaying Spear straight into Hua Ye's back.
The moment the spear tip pierced through, Hua Ye suddenly froze. Not the kind of froze you feel when facing death, but a far more eerie change—his eyes suddenly turned a deep purple, his pupils reflecting emotions that didn't belong to this era. A slow smile curved his lips, carrying an inexplicable meaning, as if he had suddenly become a different person.
"No way?" Zhao Chen looked up at the sky in disbelief, using his eagle eyes to see a purple vortex slowly dissipating.
"Zhao Chen..." Hua Ye's voice suddenly changed, becoming low and hollow, as if it came from a very, very far place.
Keisha's pupils contracted sharply. The voice wasn't Hua Ye's, yet it undeniably sounded like it. This incongruity made her grip on her sword tighten slightly.
Zhao Chen suddenly drew his gun. Hua Ye's body did not fall. He slowly stood up, looked at Zhao Chen, and something seemed to burn in his deep purple eyes.
"You," Zhao Chen's divine sense detected. Suddenly, Hua Ye possessed a power that did not belong to him. Zhao Chen knew that it was void energy from the future, from a Hua Ye that he did not yet know.
Hua Ye didn't look at Zhao Chen again. He looked at Keisha, a complex emotion churning in his purple eyes.
"Keisha," Hua Ye said in a low voice, "your enemy now is not me. It's him, it's Zhao Chen, it's this demon." As he spoke, he angrily pointed at Zhao Chen, "He will kill everyone in the future, just to devour their corpses and become stronger. He is the ultimate fear of this world."
Keisha's expression changed drastically. She looked at Zhao Chen in disbelief.
Zhao Chen didn't refute it; it really did sound like something he would do, and Hua Ye hadn't wronged him at all. What he was curious about now was how the plot had been changed.
"You still don't know?" Hua Ye sneered, "Your wild man's power comes from devouring. In the future, he devoured countless angels, not even sparing the female angels who died in battle."
You are the future King of Angels. Your warriors died on the battlefield, and in the end, even their bodies could not be preserved intact; they were all devoured by him as nourishment.
Keisha gripped the sword hilt tightly, staring intently at Zhao Chen. Her knuckles turned white from the pressure.
Liang Bing heard Hua Ye's words from afar. Her sword faltered a beat, grazed her shoulder by Su Mali's throwing knife, drawing a smear of blood. Liang Bing ignored the wound; her gaze pierced the battlefield, fixing intently on Zhao Chen.
He Xi also heard Hua Ye's conversation. She sheathed her sword and stood in the void, quietly watching Zhao Chen, as if she had never truly understood this man before.
Ruoning heard it from the other side of the battlefield. She pierced through the enemy in front of her with her sword, then looked at Zhao Chen with a gaze as cold as ice.
The fighting on the battlefield gradually subsided. Countless eyes turned to Zhao Chen.
Hua Ye looked at Keisha, a strange sense of satisfaction in his purple eyes. "Don't you believe me? Go look for the bodies of your fallen comrades and see if you can still find them."
Keisha stared intently into Zhao Chen's eyes, trying to discern something from them.
He Xi stood still, her silver eyes devoid of any emotion. She didn't look at Zhao Chen.
A cold, sharp voice suddenly came from afar: "Brother-in-law, is what he said true?"
Zhao Chen didn't answer. Did he expect him to say it was for environmental protection?
Keisha's sword drooped slightly. Not as a lowering, but as a sign of hesitation.
Hua Ye seized this moment.
A dark purple energy ball exploded in her palm, sending Keisha flying dozens of feet back.
Hua Ye didn't stop. His sword thrust towards Zhao Chen with incredible speed. Zhao Chen had just blocked Hua Ye's sword with the Chaos Bell when the second sword followed immediately, slicing open a gap in the gray-black light barrier. Then came the third sword—
Spears and swords clashed, the spear's edge and Hua Ye's deep purple energy exploding in the void. Zhao Chen was blasted back dozens of feet, his tiger's mouth split open, golden blood sliding from between his fingers.
That's incredible. The future Hua Ye, possessing Hua Ye's body, is far stronger than the current Hua Ye.
Hua Ye's sword came slashing down again. Zhao Chen quickly dodged, but his opponent seemed to have anticipated his trajectory, the tip of the sword aimed straight at his chest.
The light barrier of the Chaos Bell was pierced. The sword tip successfully penetrated Zhao Chen's chest, just an inch from his heart. A crazed light flashed in Zhao Chen's eyes, and the God-Slaying Spear aimed straight for Hua Ye's throat. Hua Ye turned his head to dodge, but the spear tip still grazed his cheek, leaving a bloody mark.
Hua Ye did not retreat. His sword advanced another inch towards Zhao Chen's chest. His eyes were filled with madness; today he would rid Zhao Chen of this great threat. Zhao Chen's vision began to blur, and golden blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.
"Brother-in-law! Zhao Chen..." Keisha and the other two women shouted anxiously.
Just then, in the sky above the universe, two eyes spanning billions of miles slowly opened. The pupils were golden rather than purple, carrying an aura of devouring all things. Deep within the pupils were endless spatial and temporal turbulence and the light of annihilation. The eyes were like eternal chaos, flowing with the patterns of the Great Dao. Cold, supreme, without joy or sorrow, they seemed to have existed since the beginning of time, overlooking the birth and death of all the heavens and myriad worlds.
Although it did not exert any pressure on the outside, it instantly froze the entire battlefield, and even the starlight of the Angel Nebula seemed to dim.
Although the crowd could not see anything, they trembled inexplicably. Strangely, Zhao Chen felt no discomfort. Instead, he felt a strange sense of familiarity, but he couldn't remember where he had seen him before.
These eyes are looking down at Hua Ye. If there is anyone on the battlefield who can see these eyes, it can only be Hua Ye, or more precisely, the future Hua Ye.
Now he could not only see it, but he also vaguely guessed who it was. He felt that everything about him was exposed under this gaze, and he was completely unable to move.
"Damn it!" Hua Ye couldn't help but curse. Was this some kind of inhumanity? Just when he was facing a life-or-death crisis, the real body crossed the river of time to arrive?
Thump! ...
A bell suddenly rang out in the void, and a gray-black light swept in like a tidal wave from the deepest part of spacetime. Carrying a power that could suppress spacetime, it crossed the river of time and arrived in this spacetime.
Hua Ye's body jolted violently. He looked down at his chest, where a gray-black ripple was spreading across his body.
"This is—" Fear appeared on his face for the first time.
As the gray-black ripples passed through Hua Ye's body, in a dimension unseen by others, Hua Ye's consciousness was completely annihilated by the bell's sound.
In the future, after Hua Ye's consciousness was stripped from his body, shattered, and dissipated, his body went limp and collapsed into the void. Golden blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.
Zhao Chen knelt on one knee in mid-air, Hua Ye's sword still embedded in his chest. He gripped the blade, using his last ounce of strength. As golden blood gushed from the wound, Zhao Chen slowly pulled the sword out inch by inch.
After pulling the sword from the wound, Zhao Chen finally fell into a coma. His Devouring Talent began to silently repair his body, and the wound healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.
On the battlefield, the male angels' defenses began to crumble. Hua Ye fell, the veteran third-generation angels were killed, Kunpeng was also killed, and Sumali was subdued by the three women. The 300,000 male angels were leaderless and began to scatter.
Keisha drew her sword and charged forward, and her soldiers pursued them relentlessly, sparing no one who surrendered!
Kill! Ruoning led the charge.
Keisha stood in the void, watching the male angel's disintegrating figure. Finally, she felt at ease.
The war is finally coming to an end.
