Chapter 485 Rescuing Hostages and Outwitting the Enemy; Magical Weapons and Surprising Forces Make T
Rescuing hostages and outsmarting the enemy, the magical weapons prove their worth once again.
The group followed the rescued young man toward the place where the dark forces were holding his family. Along the way, Pigsy couldn't help but complain, "These dark forces are truly insidious! They always use such underhanded methods, not only sowing discord but also taking people's families hostage. They're utterly despicable!"
Xiao Tian barked twice, seemingly echoing Zhu Bajie's words. It hopped along, occasionally pulling out a small gadget and fiddling with it, as if preparing for the upcoming battle.
The young man looked anxious and hurried along, saying, "It's in that abandoned mine ahead. I've only been there once. There are many traps and guards inside, so everyone must be careful."
Liu Yu patted the young man on the shoulder and comforted him, "Don't worry, we will rescue your family safely. Stay with us and try not to take any risks."
As the group arrived at the mine, a sinister atmosphere enveloped them. Weeds grew rampant around the mine, and a huge rock half-covered the entrance, as if telling the story of its desolation.
Xiao Tian ran to the cave entrance first, sniffed the air, and then took out a small bell from his person. The bell jingled gently, making a clear sound that echoed through the mine, as if it were probing something.
Xiaoqing asked curiously, "Xiaotian, what's the use of this bell?"
Xiao Tian turned his head and barked twice at Xiao Qing, as if to say, "This bell can detect the location of traps and enemies." Sure enough, the sound of the bell became rapid in a certain direction, and Xiao Tian ran in that direction to indicate that there was a trap there.
The group carefully followed Xiao Tian, navigating around a large pit filled with sharp spikes. If they accidentally fell in, they'd surely be riddled with thorns.
As they ventured deeper into the mine, the light grew increasingly dim. Suddenly, a group of dark creatures burst forth from the shadows. These creatures were short and resembled small goblins, but they exuded an aura of evil, wielding sharp weapons and howling as they charged towards the group.
"Perfect timing! I've been itching for a fight!" Pigsy brandished his nine-toothed rake and charged forward. The rake traced arcs through the air, clashing with the little goblins' weapons with a series of clangs, sending sparks flying.
Fahai clasped his hands together, chanting incantations, and a radiant Buddhist light shone forth. The soft golden light bathed the dark creatures, causing them to cry out in pain and slow their movements. "Amitabha," Fahai said compassionately, "may you, beings corrupted by darkness, find liberation soon."
Xiaoqing shook the bell in her hand, and the clear sound instantly transformed into a powerful sound wave, like an invisible tide that sent the little goblins tumbling about. "Let's see how arrogant you can be now!" Xiaoqing shouted triumphantly.
Er Gou, like an agile black panther, darted through the dark creatures. His dagger gleamed coldly as he precisely targeted the goblins' vital points. "These little minions aren't even enough to warm me up," Er Gou quipped casually.
Xiao Tian wasn't idle either. It pulled out a mini crossbow from its body, the arrows of which gleamed with a strange light. After these arrows struck the dark creatures, a puff of smoke would rise from their bodies, and they would become unable to move.
After a fierce battle, the group successfully repelled the dark creatures. Continuing deeper into the mine, a narrow passage appeared ahead. The walls on either side of the passage were inlaid with crystals that emitted an eerie glow, casting a sinister and terrifying light upon the passage.
Xiao Tian suddenly stopped, barked a few times at the passage, and then took out a magical artifact that looked like a magnifying glass. It used the magnifying glass to carefully examine the passage floor and discovered some tiny runes.
Seeing this, Lingyue stepped forward to examine the runes carefully, her expression turning serious: "These runes are a powerful magical trap. Once triggered, we will all be trapped here. Xiaotian, you are truly our lucky star, discovering another major crisis."
Xiao Tian wagged its tail smugly, as if to say, "Of course, I'll take care of this."
After Lingyue's expert analysis, the group successfully navigated the trap. Finally, they arrived at a spacious cave hall. In the center of the hall, the young man's family was imprisoned in a huge iron cage, guarded by several tall, dark warriors.
Upon seeing the group, the dark warriors immediately raised their greatswords, assuming an attack stance. One of them sneered, "You actually managed to get this far; this is your burial ground!"
Pigsy was so angry he jumped up and down: "You ugly monster, stop talking big! Today I, Old Pig, will beat you all to a pulp and rescue the hostages!"
A fierce battle ensued. The dark warriors were formidable; their greatswords swung with tremendous force, each attack carrying immense power. Pigsy was locked in a fierce struggle with one of the dark warriors, their nine-toothed rake clashing against the greatsword with deafening roars. "You dark fellow, you're quite strong, but I, Old Pig, am not afraid of you!" Pigsy shouted as he fought.
Liu Yu unleashed his swordsmanship's ultimate technique, his sword energy crisscrossing and shooting towards the dark warriors like lightning. "Behold my sword energy, it will break through your defenses!" Liu Yu shouted. The dark warriors raised their swords to defend, the sword energy striking the blades and sending sparks flying.
Xiaoqing used her bells to emit sound waves of different frequencies, disrupting the dark warriors' movements. The sound waves were like invisible needles, pricking the dark warriors and making them restless. "You villains, taste my sonic attack!" Xiaoqing shouted.
Fahai unleashed his full Buddhist light, attempting to suppress the dark aura emanating from the dark warriors. The Buddhist light enveloped the dark warriors, slowing their movements even further. "May the Buddha's light shine forth, dispelling the darkness," Fahai solemnly proclaimed.
Er Gou seized his opportunity, stealthily circling behind a dark warrior, preparing to deliver a fatal blow. However, the dark warrior seemed to sense the danger, suddenly turning around and slashing his greatsword at Er Gou. At this critical moment, Xiao Tian swiftly pulled out a magical artifact—a small shield generator. The shield instantly deployed, blocking the dark warrior's attack.
"Xiao Tian, well done!" Er Gou shouted gratefully, then seized the opportunity to stab the Dark Warrior in the leg with his dagger. The Dark Warrior cried out in pain, roared, and swung his greatsword at Er Gou again.
Xiao Tian pulled out another smoke bomb and threw it at the dark warrior. Smoke instantly filled the air, obscuring the dark warrior's vision. Taking advantage of this, the group launched an even fiercer attack, finally defeating all the dark warriors.
The young man rushed over, opened the iron cage, and rescued his family. The family embraced and wept, and the young man said gratefully, "Thank you so much. If it weren't for you, our whole family would be finished."
Liu Yu smiled and said, "No need to thank me, it's what we should do. The dark forces are so rampant, we can't just sit idly by."
Just as everyone was preparing to leave the mine, a sinister laugh suddenly came from the depths of the cave. "Hahahaha, you thought everything was fine after rescuing the hostages? This was just part of my plan." A dark figure slowly emerged from the darkness; it was the dark mage who had escaped earlier.
The dark mage brandished his staff, the black gem at its tip gleaming eerily. "Today, none of you will leave here alive!" the dark mage roared, unleashing powerful dark magic. Suddenly, countless black tentacles shot up from the cave walls, reaching out to grab the group.
"Watch out, everyone!" Liu Yu shouted, and the crowd quickly scattered. Pigsy brandished his nine-toothed rake, severing the approaching tentacles. "You wretched fellow, causing trouble again! Let's see how I, Old Pig, deal with you!" Pigsy roared angrily.
Xiaoqing shook her bell, emitting a powerful sound wave in an attempt to sever the tentacles. However, the dark magic seemed even stronger than before; the tentacles only paused briefly in the sound wave before continuing their assault on the group.
Fahai unleashed his full Buddhist light to contend with the dark magic. The Buddhist light collided with the dark tentacles, erupting in dazzling light. However, the dark mage continuously poured in magical power, and the dark tentacles gradually suppressed the Buddhist light.
Er Gou nimbly weaved through the gaps in the tentacles, attempting to approach the dark mage and deliver a fatal blow. However, the dark mage was protected by a layer of dark shield, preventing Er Gou from getting close at all.
Seeing everyone in trouble, Xiao Tian's eyes darted around, and then it pulled out a mysterious magical artifact from its person. This artifact looked like a small music box. Xiao Tian opened the music box, and a melodious tune came out.
Miraculously, as the melody began, the black tentacles gradually ceased their attack and slowly began to retract back into the wall. The dark mage's expression changed drastically upon seeing this. He increased his magical output, attempting to control the tentacles to continue their attack. However, the power of music seemed to have a special restraining effect on dark magic, and the tentacles continued to retract.
"What the hell is this?" the dark mage cried out in terror.
Xiao Tian barked smugly at the dark mage, as if to say, "This is the magic weapon specifically designed to deal with you!"
Taking advantage of the dark mage's distraction, Liu Yu seized the opportunity and unleashed the strongest strike of his sword. A dazzling sword aura shot towards the dark mage, piercing through his dark shield and striking his body. The dark mage let out a scream and collapsed to the ground.
"Hmph, let's see how you do evil now!" Pigsy stepped forward and pointed his nine-toothed rake at the dark mage.
The dark mage struggled to his feet and said viciously, "Don't be too happy yet, the forces of darkness will not let you off the hook." With that, he turned into a wisp of black smoke and disappeared.
The group successfully defeated the dark mage and led the young man and his family out of the mine. Back at the castle, the young man and his family expressed their deepest gratitude. The people in the castle, upon hearing the news, cheered and celebrated.
After this incident, the people in the castle understood even more the treacherous nature of the dark forces and cherished their unity even more. With his strange and wonderful magical artifacts, Xiao Tian once again became a little hero in everyone's eyes.
In the days that followed, Xiao Tian continued to run around the castle every day, occasionally pulling out a magical artifact to show everyone. Its bond with everyone grew stronger, and it became an indispensable part of the castle.
However, everyone knew that the dark forces would not give up so easily. They continued to intensify their training and improve their strength, always ready to meet the next challenge from the dark forces.
One day, Little Tian was playing in the castle garden as usual. Suddenly, it seemed to sense something and pulled out a magical artifact resembling a compass from its person. The pointer of the artifact spun wildly, pointing north towards the castle.
Xiao Tian hurriedly ran to the group of people who were training, barking and signaling them to follow it.
"Xiao Tian, what's wrong? Did you find something again?" Liu Yu asked.
Xiao Tian barked twice toward the north, then turned and ran in that direction. Everyone quickly followed Xiao Tian to see what it had discovered.
Following Xiaotian, the group arrived at the watchtower of the castle. Xiaotian circled the tower a few times, then pointed to the top with its paw.
"Is there something unusual at the top of the tower?" Xiaoqing asked, puzzled.
The group climbed to the top of the watchtower and discovered a portal, faintly glowing, in a corner of the summit. The portal exuded a mysterious aura, arousing both curiosity and wariness.
"How did this portal appear?" Pigsy scratched his head, looking puzzled.
Lingyue carefully observed the portal and said, "The magical fluctuations of this portal are strange, unlike the types of magic we usually see. It may lead to an unknown place, and it might even be related to dark forces."
"What should we do then? Should we go in and take a look?" Er Gou asked.
After a moment's thought, Liu Yu said, "Since this portal has appeared near our castle, it might be a new conspiracy by the dark forces. We can't just sit idly by. Going in and taking a look might yield some clues and allow us to prepare for their next move. But everyone must be careful; no one knows what's behind that portal."
Everyone nodded in agreement. Xiao Tian barked excitedly twice, seemingly filled with anticipation for entering this mysterious portal. It pulled out a small, magical light-emitting device and stepped through the portal first. The others followed closely behind Xiao Tian, stepping into this unknown world…
As the group passed through the portal, they found themselves in a strange space. The sky was an eerie purple, and all sorts of bizarre plants grew on the ground, shimmering with an eerie light as if they were breathing.
"What kind of place is this?" Pigsy exclaimed, his mouth agape in surprise.
Suddenly, a huge monster sprang out of the bushes. This monster was the size of a rhinoceros, but it had a pair of huge wings. Its eyes were bloodshot and radiated a fierce light as it roared and charged toward the group.
"Everyone be careful! This monster is hostile!" Liu Yu shouted, and everyone quickly formed a battle formation, ready to fight...
