Chapter 84: Threat
Chapter 84: Threat
"Who else could I be? Of course, I am His Highness the Crown Prince's divine physician."
The group looked at each other, then led the person to another, more secluded hut before quickly dispersing.
Song Miqiu stood alone at the front, about to push the door open, when she heard another voice behind her.
"What's the miracle doctor doing here? Didn't they say you were still resting in your room?"
"Is Your Highness angry that we kept it from you? This is what I instructed you to do, so don't blame my disciple."
Upon hearing this, the Crown Prince's smile changed again, and it took him a while to look away and at the porcelain bottle that Song Miqiu had been holding in her hand.
I finally noticed this thing.
Song Miqiu calmly picked up the item, waved it in front of him, and then stepped forward to hand it over with both hands.
"I went out this time specifically for this bottle of medicine."
“I was dealing with the epidemic among those disaster victims, and as soon as I had some free time, I immediately went out to refine this medicine.”
Seeing that the curiosity in the other person's eyes was growing stronger, Song Miqiu smiled slightly and took some powder from the pill and put it aside.
The crowd didn't understand what she meant and were about to make a move when they saw her sprinkle the powder into the mouth of a large rat that was convulsing all over.
A moment later, the rat, which was about to die, suddenly rolled over and weakly twitched its nose, searching for the powder from before.
But Song Miqiu would never waste such an expensive antidote pill, and immediately handed the medicine to the Crown Prince again.
Only after the person accepted it did he speak up to explain.
"This antidote pill can cure all poisons. It was made by me using hundreds of herbs. There is only one of its kind in the world."
"I see, I misunderstood you."
The crown prince waved to the guards at the door, and the two immediately opened the door, revealing Yu Huailin, who was covered in wounds.
Seeing his appearance, Song Miqiu felt a little sorry for him, but she didn't want to make any obvious moves, so she could only take out another bottle of medicine from her bosom and put it in his arms.
"Go back and apply the medicine yourself."
"Thank you, Master."
Yu Huailin seemed to have been tormented for a long time; his voice was hoarse and weak, making one want to reach out and help him.
But Song Miqiu suppressed her emotions and looked up at the Crown Prince once again.
"I'm a little tired, so I'll head back to rest now. I've troubled you with this."
"How could I let the miracle doctor go back hungry? Go and prepare quickly."
Hearing hurried footsteps outside, Song Miqiu couldn't help but frown, but she also felt that things were not so simple, so she could only nod in agreement.
Yu Guang glanced again at Yu Huailin, who was lying on the ground unable to move. Just as he was about to speak, he was pulled away by the guards next to the Crown Prince and watched as she was taken directly back to her courtyard.
"I'm still a little worried about this disciple. Why don't you wait until everything is ready and then have a servant summon him?"
"That's true. If I hadn't been so impatient, he wouldn't have ended up like this."
The crown prince nodded, then turned his gaze away and walked in another direction.
Once the sound had completely disappeared, Song Miqiu immediately hurried towards her room.
Pushing open the door, I saw Yu Huailin, who had changed his clothes, sitting to one side with someone.
"Pretending?"
"What do you think? Why did it take you so long to get back? Didn't you know that person was watching your every move?"
She had no choice; those two children just wouldn't let go.
The main problem is that silly son; otherwise, there would be no need to coax him at all if he didn't cause trouble.
Song Miqiu sighed inwardly before turning her gaze back to the person beside her.
"Are you going with me later?"
"Do I have any other options?"
Now that both of them are being closely watched, how could Yu Huailin possibly escape?
About half an hour later, the voices of servants came from outside, and the two slowly left the courtyard.
As soon as she arrived at the Crown Prince's location, she saw him looking at Song Miqiu with a smile on his face.
Having guessed why, she could only force a smile and sit down in her seat.
"The doctor's medicine is truly miraculous. I wonder if he will continue to serve me in the future?"
"Of course, I, the Crown Prince, won't let you do this for nothing. How about a generous reward for every pill you refine?"
Song Miqiu was naturally unwilling, but seeing the sharpness in those eyes, she didn't dare to shake her head.
He could only lower his head and pretend to think, before looking up at the Crown Prince after a long while.
“It is my honor to serve the Crown Prince, but…” Song Miqiu stood up, raised his hand above his head, glanced at Yu Huailin beside him, and sighed softly, “I cannot abandon my newly accepted disciple. I wonder if he can serve you alongside me.”
The Crown Prince glanced at Yu Huailin out of the corner of his eye and frowned slightly, but the dissatisfaction he brought was not outweighed by the benefits brought by Song Miqiu. In the end, he still waved his sleeves and agreed.
With their small request fulfilled, Song Miqiu led Yu Huailin in another bow and sat down at the table again.
When the two returned to their room, their smiles had vanished, replaced by somber expressions as they looked at each other.
"Yu Huailin, your target is him. Following me will only make things easier for you. Why don't we cooperate?"
"Cooperate? If he dies, you and I will be the first suspects. Why would I invite trouble upon myself?"
If he hadn't been so eager to assassinate, this wouldn't have happened at all.
Song Miqiu let out a cold laugh, her resentful eyes fixed on the other person.
They were aware of this as well, but remained silent for a long time before letting out another sigh and turning to look in another direction.
"If you don't want to cooperate, that's fine too. Then tomorrow you can find an excuse to sever your master-disciple relationship with me and leave the City Lord's Mansion. But whether you'll be able to come back in after that..."
Yu Huailin wasn't stupid; he naturally knew that unless Song Miqiu still needed those rare herbs, he would have absolutely no chance of easily entering the city lord's mansion.
Even if one manages to break in using light-footed skills, it would be extremely easy for them to be caught.
Thinking about these things, his brows furrowed again, and after a moment he suddenly looked at Song Miqiu.
"I can choose not to come again, as long as this is resolved today."
"You just used medicine to switch me. What would have happened if that medicine had killed the Crown Prince?"
Song Miqiu knew he had this ability, and her brows furrowed, clearly wanting to say something more, but the gaze he received from the other man sent a chill down her spine and made her scalp tingle.
Yes, she was indeed useful, but that was on the premise that the Crown Prince was still alive.
If Yu Huailin were to kill him at this point and then flee far away, he would be the only one to suffer.
Thinking of this, Song Miqiu sighed helplessly.
Just as she was about to use a similar pill to play a game with him, there was a sudden knock on the door, which startled everyone.
"The divine physician, the Crown Prince, asked me to deliver some things to you."
"If you don't speak, I'll come in."
Song Miqiu stood up, intending to shoo the person away, but accidentally stepped on Yu Huailin and fell.
